Beginner Poker Tutorial
When you first start playing Texas Holdem the best strategy is not
to play too many hands. Nearly all beginners make this common mistake
and the average players know this. So, when you are first starting, it
is best to play a very strict set of hands and fold the rest.
Best Starting Poker Hands
Unfortunately, because poker is such a complex game, it is not as easy
as saying play only pairs and Ace/Queen and above. So, Poker Watchdogs
has put together this printable table for you to keep track of what to
play and when.

Poker Lesson Chart Tips
In order to use this chart successfully, it is best to follow these
guidelines:
- These are the hands to play if you are not raised. If you are raised, then only play
pairs or Ace/King or Ace/Queen, fold the rest.
- Whenever you have one of the hands above, you should be raising. The raise should
be twice the big blind or more.
- When you are the big blind, do not fold unless you are raised. You should be checking, which means no raise.
- Vary your play every once in a while, but stick to the strategy outlined above 95% of the time.
